Give Children With Autism A Brighter Future Through Autism Scholarship Programs

Texas Parents For Autism Scholarships is dedicated to improving the education system for all children with autism. In doing so we are proactively advocating for the development of an Autism Scholarship Program, similar to Ohio's successful law - Ohio Autism Scholarship Program.

Currently the CDC quotes one in 150 children are diagnosed with autism each year, and that number is increasing at a rate of nearly 20% each year. This disorder is rapidly becoming a national crisis. The Harvard School of Public Health estimates that over a lifetime, and autistic child will require $3.2 million in care. Early, intensive education may not only dramatically reduce the cost by almost 2/3, but also may improve the life of each child by providing the foundation for greater success in social, home and school environments. This could be the difference between a generation of healthy, tax-paying citizens vs. institutionalized adults. Unlike other disorders, intensive education of autistic children may enable many of these children to become more productive, independent members of society.

Texas Parents For Autism Scholarships believe in a strong Texas and scholarships will provide our families and the educators of Texas with the appropriate tools needed for a brighter tomorrow!
